On Monday, June 21, 2016, 5:45am, the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a mailbox vandalism occurring on Cth.B in the Township of Marquette, Green Lake County. A Deputy responded to this complaint of vandalism and several others throughout Monday.
Gathering witness and victim statements, evidence at the scenes, and talking with suspects, four arrests have been made for 32 mailbox vandalisms occurring in the County of Green Lake and City of Markesan. The four suspects, ages 17 to 23, all from Southern Green Lake County and Markesan, have been arrested and booked into the Green Lake County jail. All suspects have been released pending further investigation and an assessment of total damages which is expected to be in the thousands of dollars.
Over 32 criminal counts of Damage to Property and Theft will be referred to the Green Lake County District Attorney. Sheriff Podoll wished to thank, “the citizens of Southern Green Lake County and Markesan Police for providing good information which enabled us to solve this together as partners”. The names of the suspects are being withheld pending formal charging by the District Attorney.
