Information: |
In the early morning hours of Monday, August 5, 2013, the Walkers Kollerville Restaurant, Green Lake, was forcefully entered. A detection system alerted the owners of the restaurant who called the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office. |
A Green Lake County Deputy arrived at Walkers, 1:03am, and during an exterior search of the building observed the suspect exit the restaurant and run into a cornfield. A foot chase ensued and the subject was lost in the cornfield. A perimeter was established and the Green Lake Area Combined Tactical Unit was called out. Area law enforcement assisted in the perimeter including a search dog from the Fond Du Lac Police Department. |
Shortly after daylight a vehicle was located east of the restaurant in a field entrance. A search warrant was prepared, authorized, and served on the vehicle. A separate search warrant was prepared, authorized, and served upon the registered owner’s residence in Brandon, Wisconsin. Evidence was obtained from the vehicle. |
Due to the suspect being a local Wisconsin law enforcement officer, the Division of Criminal Investigation was called and will take over the investigative portion of this burglary and possibly others associated within the area. A Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources airplane ran air surveillance while attempts were made to locate the suspect. |
At approximately 2:55pm a Green Lake resident, about two miles northwest of the incident, reported that his 1985 Toyota extended cab truck was stolen. Authorities believed that the suspect may be headed to western Wisconsin. A coordinated effort with western Wisconsin authorities resulted in the stolen 1985 Toyota truck being located in Barron County, Wisconsin. In Barron County, at approximately 6:00pm, a high-speed chase ensured which resulted in a crash. The suspect fled on foot and after an extensive overnight search, is still at large. |
The suspect is a Wisconsin law enforcement officer and may be armed — caution should be used in dealing with this individual. If you see the suspect dial #911. |
